General optometrist and Ocular Disease Specialist
She originally came to our practice as an intern in her 4th year as an optometry student. She was such a great fit that we found a way to add her to the team permanently. For Dr. Greene, it was extremely important for her to not only see patients, but to choose the right practice that shares her beliefs and desire to go above and beyond to help people.
Dr. Greene is a Knoxville native and grew up here. She completed her undergraduate studies in biochemistry and molecular biology right down the road at Belmont University in Nashville. She then went even further away to Memphis and completed her degree in Optometry at Southern College of Optometry (SCO). She then came back home and practices general optometry but also has a passion for detecting and treating all kinds of eye diseases and conditions.
Outside of the Practice
Dr. Taylor Greene married her high school sweetheart, Ty Greene. Even though kids aren’t in the works yet, they are a family of 3. They have an adorable black lab puppy named Sage. In their free time, they love attending UT sporting events and train for half-marathons. They both love discovering local places to eat and love to travel as much as possible. They love to roam the world and are always planning their next trip.
Basketball has always been a huge part of her life. She went to Belmont university on a basketball scholarship, and is still active today, not just by attending games, but by volunteering as well. As a youngster she played at the Boys and Girls Club, and she now uses her free time to coach basketball to 6 &7-year-old kids at her local Boys and Girls Club. She has also used basketball as a tool to connect with and reach people for Christ on several mission trips with her church.
